Ohh So Sweet! Virtual STEM Lab with Dr. Devin Horton

Join Camp Journeys as we encourage the scientist in your child with a fun STEM lab that will allow them to learn how sugars from some of their favorite snacks and various consumables, process in the body. An event designed for campers, AGES 10 - 15 YRS OLD, Dr. Horton will walk our campers through a step-by-step lab and educate them on the importance of science. In addition, parents will also receive tips and information on the importance of fostering STEM education for their child.

Ticket purchasing options:

1.) $15 - price includes a science kit with all the necessary supplies to complete the experiment. There will be an additional $5 charge for each additional child (Kit included). All orders must be placed by February 13, 2021 to ensure a timely delivery.

2.)  $10 - price includes the ticket only. Participants will provide their own supplies.

** Supplies Needed for the Lab if you only purchase a ticket:

-5 –Clear plastic bottles with 1/3 cup of very warm water in them

-3 –½ tablespoonyeast(~8.5 grams)

-2 –2 tablespoons of sugar(~30 grams)

-2 –2 tablespoons of flour(~30 grams)

-5–Balloons

-1 –Sharpie

-1 –Worksheet

3.) Scholarship-Based Participation - For Campers who would like to participate, but need some financial support. The scholarship will provide the camper with a science kit to conduct the lab, so orders must be placed by February 13, 2021 to ensure a timely delivery.

4.) Adult Sponsorship ($15) - For those individuals who want to make sure a young camper is able to participate in lab.

This lab requires some monitoring. We are asking parents for assitance with supervision and assistance.
